Dance & Music Academy was founded in 2008 by husband and wife team Erwin and Neta. After five years working aboard Royal Caribbean cruise ships, they settled in Woodstock, GA. They have created a school dedicated to the enrichment of students' lives through the study of music and dance and believe in the importance of community service.
They are grateful for being welcomed to Cherokee County and recognized for “Best Studio” for both Music and Dance by the readers of local magazines for many years. After four short years they outgrew their first location in Historic Downtown Woodstock and are thrilled to have expanded twice into their current locations in the Publix shopping center at Old Highway 5 and East Cherokee. Their new facility offers four dance studios with Marley flooring and closed-circuit cameras that broadcast classes live to flat screen TVS in the waiting area, as well as four soundproof music rooms with viewing windows.
Erwin and Neta create a nurturing atmosphere by selecting instructors that are not only proficient in their specialties, but are also positive role models that are invested in their students. DMA focuses not only on great instruction, but great customer service. Management is organized and responsive, office staff are friendly and helpful, and schedules and performances are planned with parents' busy schedules in mind. Dance & Music Academy teachers, staff, and management strive to build lasting customer relationships.
Currently DMA offers Creative Movement, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Acrobatics, Guitar, Piano, Drums, Violin, and Voice. DMA has a student Dance Company that produces The Woodstock Nutcracker each December, a Competition Dance Team, and music performance groups. Each spring, DMA showcases its students in annual recitals. These productions provide stage experience and an opportunity for students to share their talent and hard work with family and friends.
While Erwin and Neta understand that not every student will become a professional musician or dancer, it is their mission that DMA students will have an appreciation for these art forms, develop character through the study of the crafts, and utilize the skills and habits learned at DMA throughout their lives. Erwin and Neta invite you to visit Dance & Music Academy and hope they will have the opportunity to share their passion for music and dance with you.
